'Not only is punishment risky, but it also fails to teach the dog an acceptable alternate behaviour. The dog does not learn what to do the next time he is in the same situation. He only learns to fear the situation.' Emma Parsons, Click to Calm p73

Gotcha!

It's Jessie's gotcha day today. Since we don't know her birthday, this is the day we use as the day she formally gets older each year.

She's twelve years old now. She's spent the day eating a huge lump of ox tail and sleeping.

Good dog, Jess.

Happy Gotcha Day!!

What a coincidence because Feb 15 is the Girl Of The House's birthday. She was 22 this week (so not really a girl any more I suppose).

Love and licks, Winnie
