'Not only is punishment risky, but it also fails to teach the dog an acceptable alternate behaviour. The dog does not learn what to do the next time he is in the same situation. He only learns to fear the situation.' Emma Parsons, Click to Calm p73

As well as the dogs and rats, my house is the home of a mouse, Wheatley. I got him from a pet shop on Friday 16th March 2012. Although he started out as very, very friendly and social, as soon as he grew balls (in more ways than one!) and realised there was Girl Mice in the house, he lost all interest in interacting with me, period. He can still be picked up, but it's very much on his terms now; he has to come onto my hand, as trying to grab him results in grabbing air and nothing else.

His name comes from a character in Portal 2, one of my favourite games.
